Consulting

Strategic work for problems that do not fit a package.

Individual engagements for situations that are valuable, unclear, or unusually interconnected. The first job is to make the problem legible.

The premise

A good answer starts with a better account of what is happening.

Some problems arrive as a vague ambition, a disagreement, an underperforming system, or a decision with too many dependencies. Instead of forcing them into a standard service, I investigate the situation, separate symptoms from causes, and identify the smallest useful direction.

01

Direction

Clarify a positioning question, new opportunity, difficult choice, or the logic behind a planned initiative.

02

Systems

Understand where an operating process, information flow, AI initiative, or team routine actually breaks down.

03

Execution

Translate an important idea into a sequence of decisions, responsibilities, evidence, and practical next moves.

The starting product

The Strategic Memo turns a messy situation into a usable point of view.

It is a diagnostic engagement before it is an implementation engagement. The scope is defined around the question, access to relevant context, and the decision the work needs to support.

  1. 01

    Diagnose

Gather the relevant context, claims, constraints, and competing interpretations. Identify what is known, assumed, and still missing.

  2. 02

    Synthesize

Connect the evidence into a coherent explanation of the situation, including tensions, causal relationships, and uncertainty.

  3. 03

    Recommend

Set out a practical direction, trade-offs, risks, and the next decisions in an order that can actually be used.

Output

A narrative memo, not a pile of slides.

The core deliverable is one memo—or a short sequence of memos when the question warrants it. Graphics, diagrams, or quantitative views are included where they make the reasoning easier to inspect. The format serves the argument, not the other way around.

Typically covered

  • The question and its underlying assumptions
  • A diagnosis of the current situation
  • A reasoned point of view and its evidence
  • Options, trade-offs, risks, and next decisions

After the memo

The recommendation does not force a larger engagement.

A

Your team implements

The memo is designed to stand on its own as a clear basis for internal decisions and execution.

B

I help implement

If useful, I can support selected parts of the implementation in a separately scoped, paid engagement.

C

A selective equity case

In rare cases, a longer collaboration may include equity. That depends on fit, trust, incentives, and the substance of the opportunity—not on a standard offer.

Commercial terms

Paid work is the default.

The Strategic Memo and any implementation support are scoped and priced for the specific situation. Free work is reserved for exceptional cases where the question, public value, or circumstances make that choice genuinely sensible.

Proof

No borrowed logos. No invented numbers.

Public consulting cases will appear when the work can be shown with permission and enough context to be meaningful. Until then: proof pending. Skepticism encouraged.
